This could be because of artistic convention, the fact that they were brothers or simply because the stories were told in different regions. Zeus was the first Olympian to take on Cronus, their father. Cronus was scared that one of Zeus his siblings would overthrow Cronus was swallowed by Zeus and his brothers upon birth. Zeus is king of heavens and leader of the Olympian Gods. He is usually depicted with beard and a trident in his hand. He is a strong and powerful god with a tan skin tone. The beard and hair of his is light brown and he wears loose robes that showcase his muscular body. He prefers the trident and also carries a lightning bolt. What are their powers? Although they share a few similar qualities, Zeus and Poseidon are quite different from each other. Each has distinct strengths and powers that help them fulfill their roles in the pantheon. Zeus is the king of Gods and rules over the skies. Poseidon controls the ocean and Hades is the god of the underworld. Both brothers can kill their foes by using thunder and lightning. Both brothers can alter their appearance. This lets them communicate with mortals on the level of a human. They also have the ability to manage weather conditions and are extremely powerful at sea. Poseidon, the king of the seas, and earthquakes can trigger earthquakes, storm surges, and tsunamis. He is usually portrayed with his trident held in his hand to demonstrate his power. He is also the King of horses, which means he is able to take control of all animals that reside in his domain, including land and sea creatures. He is also a god of the Underworld. While there he made her drink his potion. This turned her into a Hebe and she was unable to return to Demeter until she had a child. Persephone was able to spend two-thirds of the year with Demeter and a third of the time with Hades. This also led to the emergence of seasons. During her time with Demeter She began to ignore her duties as the goddess of fertility. This was arousing Hades. He decided to take her back. He tricked her by changing himself into a disheveled cockoo. Because of her love for animals the bird was placed on her breast and she fell in love. He then returned to his original form and got married to her. Hades became a loving husband and father to his three children following the wedding. But, he was insecure about his position on Mount Olympus. He desired to be the center of attention for once. He proposed to the gods that he would bring hell to Earth. They debated the idea for days before they finally agreed. While Hestia is a goddess of peace, her role is to keep the other Olympians in the right place. She is also the patroness of marriage and gives particular care of married women. She was a pious woman, but she had some flings with her sister's husband Zeus. She had children with mortals and nymphs. These included Triton, Theseus, Orion and Pegasus.
